Here are some frequently asked questions.
If they inspire you to learn more then please give me a call and I'll talk with you one on one and help you fully understand how to have a beautiful lawn year after year.

Question ~ What is the correct height to cut my grass ?

Answer ~ First, you have to determine the type of grass you have. Here in the Carolinas there are three (3) major types, Tall Fescue, Bermuda and Zoysia. Tall Fescue should be cut to a height of 3-3 1/2 inches, Bermuda and Zoysia should be cut to a height of 2-2 1/2 inches.

Question ~ Should I mulch or bag ?

Answer ~ There are pros and cons to both methods. Mulching is the ideal approach, as it adds nutrients to your soil and promotes a healthy lawn. However, if you let your grass grow too long and the clippings become too cumbersome you will have to start bagging them. Mulching sometimes make it difficult for you to keep your lawn looking clean and tidy.

Question ~ How often should I water my lawn ?

Answer ~ This depends on the season, grass type and soil conditions. As a general rule, your lawn should receive at least 1" of water per week. However,  how often you water your lawn also depends on how your lawn will look.

Question ~ I have weeds in my lawn, how do I get rid of them ?

Answer ~ first you have to determine what kind of weeds they are, most common here are clover, chickweed, henbit, crabgrass and dandelions. Once you have identified the type of weed apply a weed control/kill product either by spray or granular. Please make sure you follow the directions just as they appear on the label. Applying more then what is suggested is not the correct way to approach the problem, multiple applications is the best process to follow.

Question ~ How often should I fertilize my lawn ?

Answer ~ This really depends on the condition of your lawn. To make sure you keep it healthy you should fertilize at least 3-4 times per year, using the correct fertilizer for the correct season i.e.: spring, summer, fall and winter.

By following these simple steps you can achieve a healthy and beautiful lawn to enjoy for years to come. Remember that achieving a beautiful lawn takes time, patience, dedication and a little hard work. Keep in mind that once you have that beautiful lawn it will not only add curb appeal but value to your home.
